Monthly Spotlight Submissions
Have a piece of short fiction, a poem or a monologue that you want to share? Then you have come to the right place.
We are looking to hear from female identifying and non binary writers from all around the world.
Every month we spotlight a piece of new writing on our blog and we are now looking for submissions for 2023.
What to submit
Here at Very Rascals we especially like work that:

Spotlights social issues important to the writer.

Highlights forgotten stories in the present or throughout history.
-
Focuses on communication and the different ways we navigate as a society.
Your submission can be anything from a poem to a bit of script… or something in-between, we’re not fussy. As long as you have created it and the work is important to you, then we want to read it!

Below you can see some examples of the pieces that we have shared, they include a wide range of formats including text, audio and video. When submitting keep it simple or go wild, choose your ideal way of presenting the text:
* Please note that all videos and recordings should be no longer than 5 minutes, and any short stories should be no longer than 1,000 words.
What we promise
Throughout the month of the initial sharing we will:

Promote your work across our social media, and generally make a big fuss about you!

Post a minimum of two posts about yourself and your piece.

Help you promote other work. If you find yourself doing other things throughout the month, that you want to shout about, let us know! We will help you get the word out.

Consult you on every step. All publications and posts will be sent to you beforehand, for you to give the final thumbs up. This spotlight page is for you, and we want you to have ownership.

Your spotlight page will then stay on our site
FOREVER…
(or until you want it taken down).
You can then share and show it off to whomever you like!
